Cookies and Cream Truffle
Finding the perfect cookies and cream truffle recipe can be a challenge. You want to find one that is simple but still tastes great.
Cookies and cream is a flavor that’s gained so much popularity in recent years that it’s honestly hard to think of a time when we weren’t utterly enamored with it. This recipe is a great way to get that wonderful flavor onto your dinner table in no time at all – we love it!
We adore how simple this recipe is, and we’re sure you will too. Try making it ahead of time for the next time you want to impress someone with your cooking!
When to Serve These Truffles
There are plenty of times that you could serve these truffles – dessert is only the beginning. We would suggest making a batch or two of these truffles to be served at a small family gathering, or even just to have on the counter when you’ve got guests over.
Because these truffles are bite-sized, it’s wonderfully easy to simply supply them to your guests, safe in the knowledge that they’ll happily eat one or two of them. Not only are they easy to eat, but they’re also super moreish!
Tips for Making These Truffles Perfectly
These truffles can be a little tricky to get right on your first time – there’s certainly a learning curve. We’ve put together a couple of tips that we’re sure will help you nail these truffles when you come to make them yourself.
- To help in shaping the balls, wet your hands and any utensils slightly first. The fat content of the truffle mixture won’t stick to the water, meaning that you can easily roll and prepare a few of them.
- Make sure to let the cream cheese come to room temperature before you start cooking – this will make the blending and shaping processes much easier.
- To help the chocolate to cool and dry once it’s on the balls, try dipping the truffles with a toothpick embedded in them. Then, skewer the toothpick onto a piece of cardboard or polystyrene to make the truffles stand independent of a surface that they would drip chocolate onto.
How to Put Your Own Twist on These Truffles
There are plenty of ways that you could make these truffles a little more personal to you, but we would suggest that the best way to go is into aesthetic options.
You could make a thin, simple water icing, and use piping back to create intricate small shapes on the truffles themselves. You could even pipe letters onto the truffles, eventually spelling out a word or a short message.
Conversely, you could pick up some freeze-dried berries. They might sound a little tricky to get hold of, but you can often find them in the health food section of your supermarket. They’re ideal for this recipe as they will stick to the chocolate coating of the truffles while it’s still wet, and they’re also very lightweight, so you don’t need to worry about any structural issues within the truffles themselves.
This is a wonderfully simple recipe that we adore – we’re sure that if you try it out for yourself you’ll feel the same way. Give it a go soon, you won’t be disappointed!
