Are you craving fluffy pancakes and toppings that make you feel like you’re on cloud nine? This not-so-sweet pancake recipe features a subtle vanilla flavor.

They’re delightful, and you can simply make them with essential baking ingredients, including flour and eggs.

Without further ado, this post features one of the best and easiest pancake recipes you’ve come across.

What Are Pancakes?

Homemade pancakes are undoubtedly delicious. However, you can (surprisingly) easily make them.

Spoiler alert: simple pancake recipes call for ingredients you most likely already have on hand. These include butter, sugar, egg, baking powder, and all-purpose flour. You can start with this basic recipe or try other variants, such as yogurt and buttermilk.

In any case, you’ll have such a fluffy pile that you can eat in less than 30 minutes. Don’t forget to preheat that oven to keep those treats warm as you finish the rest of the recipe. Doing so makes a huge difference.

Why People Love Pancakes

pancakes

Pancakes can turn into a ton of dessert options. For years, these treats have made cinnamon and sugar appear good.

However, in recent years, restaurants have used this versatile little wrap to enfold all sorts of delicious things. Here are the reasons why the world loves them:

Pancakes are fantastic for creating no-fuss, simple desserts. These treats can also be paired with the delightful Royal Victoria cream cheese, cocoa, yogurt, and fruits.

Anyone can enjoy them.

Pancakes are flat by nature and ideal for stacking. Additionally, they may also be flipped over or curled up to better keep their fillings.

Additionally, you may form the batter into whatever shape you choose using a squeeze bottle. Isn’t that fun?

Plus, it serves as a delightful treat for young children and the young at heart.

You can easily make pancakes.

You only need flour, eggs, milk, baking powder, and a dab of oil for frying to prepare a batch of these treats. All these ingredients will certainly be on your practically empty shelves before the month ends.

If you use your imagination, you can use the lonesome banana on your table to top them. You can also use a dusty (not expired) can of caramel.

Pancakes are fantastic treats.

Some people love savory pancakes. Others don’t.

For those who love savory fluffs, you can put things such as cream cheese, bacon, eggs, fruits, creamed spinach, or any stuffing you choose.

Additionally, how can anyone not love and enjoy them? No one will condemn you for eating a dinner of these treats with great toppings.

You can eat them for breakfast every day.

Remember those movies where loving parents serve these treats for their kids in the morning? You can do the same for yourself.

Load them with citrus fruits, honey, berries, or bananas to prepare a nutritious breakfast. You can also go all out and thickly cover them with chocolate spread. Then, top them with chocolate chips for texture. In addition, you can use pancakes in advance and store them later.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 6 to 8

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup fresh milk (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • assorted pancake toppings such as maple syrup, confectioner’s sugar, butter, chocolate syrup, or any pancake topping of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and cooled); you can use an equal amount of vegetable oil or other cooking oil you prefer
  • 1 whole egg (large)
  • ½ teaspoon iodized salt, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or any cooking oil you like

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet or a baking tray to keep the cooked pancakes warm in the oven while you cook the rest of your batter.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Set it aside.
  3. Next, mix the melted butter, egg, and milk in a separate mixing bowl.
  4. After that, combine the dry ingredients with the milk mixture. Whisk the mixture gently, just enough to get your pancake batter moist. Keep in mind not to overmix your batter. A few tiny lumps here and there would be fine.
  5. Preheat your skillet (cast-iron or nonstick) or a regular pan over medium heat.
  6. Fold a paper towel in half and lightly grease your pan. You may also use an oil sprayer or a silicon brush instead.
  7. Pour at least 2 to 3 tablespoons of pancake batter into the pan for every pancake. Spread the batter to form a circle using the back of a spoon. Two to three should fit in a large pan or skillet. You can also swirl your pan to create a circle with your batter.
  8. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Then, wait until the pancakes bubble and a few pop.
  9. Flip them gently with a thin spatula and continue cooking until the other side becomes brown. This usually takes 1 to 2 minutes.
  10. Place your cooked pancakes on a baking sheet or tray. Lightly cover them with aluminum foil and keep them warm in the oven.
  11. Continue with the remaining pancake batter and oil. You can make between 12 and 15 pancakes with this recipe.
  12. Serve them hot with your preferred pancake toppings. Enjoy your fluffy pancakes!
